Welcome
At Tas OEM we practice evidence-based medicine, promoting active self-management where appropriate and we advocate the health benefits of remaining at or returning to appropriate work following illness or injury.
We believe that it is essential for patients to be involved in their own healthcare and that they have the most important role to play in the rehabilitation process.
What is Occupational & Environmental Medicine?
Occupational and Environmental Physicians (OEPs) are medical specialists who focus on identifying, preventing, treating, and managing health conditions and injuries that arise from workplace and environmental physical, chemical, biological, and other exposures. They also specialise in managing health conditions that can impact a person's capacity for work, such as musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, chronic pain, and mental illness. OEPs work closely with other health professionals, employers, government and other interested parties to promote the health benefits of good work, principles of proactive prevention and principles of active self-management.
